Dwell this summer with this coffee table in a super sleek design. The Banco series comes from Dutch brand WOOOD's own production collection and meets the latest design trends. 

Material

The coffee table is made of fast-growing African softwood called Thermo Ayous. The Ayous used for this series is FSC certified wood and thus comes from well-managed forests. Because Ayous wood has an open cell structure, it can be perfectly thermally preserved by steam or heat treatment without the use of chemicals. This makes the wood comparable to a hardwood. To preserve the natural colour of Ayous wooden furniture, we recommend treating the wood with the WOOOD Teak sealer. If the wood has already aged, it is important to first clean the furniture with the WOOOD Teak cleaner and then apply the Exotan Teak sealer.

Maintenance

This tropical wood is heated up to 215° Celsius. The "baking" makes Thermo Ayous more resistant to moisture, exceptionally stable and will remain maintenance-free for years (Durability class I). After Thermo Ayous wood has been thermally treated, it has a beautiful modern and warm appearance and changes with weather influences to then gradually age evenly (just like tropical hardwood). Over time, superficial cracks and fissures may appear in the wood, but this will not impair its quality.

Do you want to retain the original colour as much as possible? You can treat the wood with an oil, coating, or stain suitable for outdoor wood (preferably including UV protection). However, slight discolouration will always occur. We advise you to re-treat the wood 1 or 2 times annually. Seek advice in the store for the suitable treatment product and the method of application. Treating the wood is at your own risk, which will void the warranty.
